- Miss Hollywood (full-length play) won the 2019 Aurand Harris Memorial Playwrighting Award sponsored by the New England Theatre Conference (NETC)
- Wound (full-length play) won First Prize for Drama in the 2016 Writer’s Digest Award competition
- Imitate the Sun (full-length screenplay) won First Prize for Drama in Hollywood’s 2006 American Accolades Competition
- Kidnapped (full-length play) won the 1998 Best New Play Award from NYC’s Workshop Theater
- New Truck for Paulie (full-length play) won the 1995 Best New Drama Award from the Southern Appalachian RepertoryTheatre
- Who Collects the Pain (full-lenth play) won the 1991 “Emerging Playwright Award” from NYC’s Playwrights Preview Productions (now Urban Stages)
- “There’s an Angel in Las Vegas won the 1986 Best New Dramatist Prize from Washington D.C’s Source Theater. Their production won three more prizes in the Washington Theatre Festival
- Yearn (one-act play) was a runner-up in the 2016 Dubuque Fine Arts One-Act Award
- Serious Moonlight (full-length screenplay) was a Finalist in The Writers Foundation’s Competition
- World of Sinatras (full-length play) was nominated for the 2012 Best New Drama Award by the Southern Appalachian Theatre
- Teenagers in Love (full-length play) received Honorable Mention in the 2020 New Works of Merit Playwriting Award
- My film script Breakfast in Paris was a Semi-Finalist in FadeIn Magazine’s Best Screenplay Competition.
- My film script Serious Moonlight was a Finalist in the 2002 Writers Foundation’s Competition
- World of Sinatras received a grant from the Pilgrim Project in 2010
- The Unraveling received a grant from the Puffin Foundation in 2014
- New Truck for Paulie received a grant from Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation in 1995
- Orphans of the Sea received a fellowship from Blue Mountain Center
